02Community CommerceDirected, Built

Streetwear Label & Member Club

Built a commerce experience that combined product releases with an owned member community, integrating the forum directly into the storefront.

The store's opening screen: a sign-up panel over a night photograph of a motorcycle, above the first row of an upcoming release.

What I did

Two pieces of work on one store. The storefront is a bespoke front-end layer rather than a configured theme: its own header and footer, the release modules on the home page, a browsable archive of past drops, the lookbook, and the release pages — around fifteen custom sections carrying the brand's own language rather than a vendor's defaults. The members' club is the second piece, and it is built as part of the store instead of rented from a community platform: boards, threads, replies, member handles, image posts and the moderation queue are one codebase and one database schema, and a member signs in with the store account they already have rather than a second identity. Replies can answer one specific post, so the founders can talk to the fan who asked rather than to the thread at large, and club-only products are enforced at checkout rather than hidden in the theme — a non-member who reaches a gated item is stopped by the store, not by a missing button.

What to look at in the demo

  • The header, footer and home modules are bespoke sections rather than a configured theme.
  • The club is reached from the store's own navigation — the Club link in the header — not a separate site or subdomain.
  • The club is shown from the inside, signed in as an ordinary member: one feed across both boards, a filter for each board, three sort orders, and the threads behind them.
  • Founder posts carry their own rail and badge, so official updates stay distinct inside the same feed rather than in a separate lane.
  • The members, threads and pictures are the build's development sample content, not real members' posts, and posting is switched off.

  • The release archive, with past drops listed by number and date above their garments and prices.
  • The club entrance as a signed-out visitor sees it, offering sign-in rather than the boards behind it.

Growth only matters when the business can hold it.
